WIE Technical Presentation Competition
As part of WIE Week, a presentation competition was conducted for the students at TKM College Of Engineering on 14th March 2019. The objective of organising such an event was to give the students an insight on latest developments in the field of engineering and technology. Each contestant was asked to do a powerpoint presentation on any of the latest technologies. Some of the ideas presented were quite mind-blowing.
'Have you ever thought of charging your mobile phone while walking?' This is quite an interesting question and yes, it is possible in this era of technology. Nano generators are used to convert mechanical/thermal energy as produced by small scale physical changes to electricity. Another presentation was on Adidas shoes made from ocean plastic debris.
The wave of the future is Internet of Things. IOT will play an inevitable role in our everyday activities from smart kitchens to smart parking slots. Some other interesting presentations were on driver less cars, beacon technology, humanoid robot Sophia, micro LEDs and even a glance in web history. Thus the two hour long session turned out to be quite interesting and informative.
The first prize went to Anu Francis(E1) and Anandhu (E1) and second prize to Nesma(T1) and Sahil(R1).
